Druggie

Lately I've been pretty stressed because of all the bullcrap I have to get done for school before Thanksgiving. Right now the Mom is going to school as well, and sometimes we complain for hours to one another about how much our lives suck. One day while complaining, she said she's been taking this new herbal supplement her doctor recommended, Evening Primrose. She says that it helps her sleep better, and among other things, keeps her stress at a manageable level. This is important for she and I, because we stress out (seriously) way more than the average individual. It's probably not even healthy, and frequently it's over insignificant, trivial issues. In a nutshell, if this stuff worked for her, then it will probably have some kind of an effect on me as well.

After performing a nerdy amount of research to make sure it was "legit" and all that, I bought some and decided to give it a try. OMG. You know, it could just be the Placebo Effect. It could be totally in my head, which is fine, but since I've started it, I've noticed differences. I've slept significantly better, which helps me stay awake better in the evening when I study. I'm still stressed, but it just doesn't break me down like it used to. In other words, I don't feel like crying or lashing out irrationally at nearby loved ones by the end of a long day. The stress is below the surface, not absolutely smothering me. For the first time, I'm wondering if this is what normal people feel like! O_o

So, I guess in summary, I'm now controlling my life with drugs. This is probably where Shruti will intervene and tell me what a HORRIBLE IDEA THIS IS, like that time she went spastic when I took a Tums for indigestion. ;) WELL, BRING IT ON! I'M NOT AFRAID!! BWA HA!

Oh geez, it's not a "sleep medication"! It's an herbal supplement!! It doesn't even have an active ingredient! ;)

You know, if you keep this up, I might have to start thinking that you just don't like drugs. Which I may or may not take personally. ;)

Yeah, those Tums have some very nasty side effects--I did read something about 'unexplained violence' on the side of the bottle. :P
